Rbl-2h3 rat mast cell line : in vitro degranulation assay for evaluation of ige-reactivity towards environmental allergens in allergic patient serum

Rat mast cell line (RBL-2H3) transfected with the cDNAs encoding the three subunits (alpha, beta, gamma) of the human high affinity IgE receptor. The transfected cell line binds human IgE, which does not bind to rodent receptor. It enablesto perform degranulation assays with serum from allergic patients for its reactivity towards environmental allergens.

Interest / Relevance: 1. Evaluation of patient serum for reactivity towards environmental allergen.
2. Evaluation of adverse allergic effects in clinical studies or trials.
