Heln er beta cell line

HELN were generated by transfection of cervical cancer HeLa cells with the ERE-betaGlobin-Luciferase-SV40-Neomycin plasmid. HELN hER beta cells were generated by transfection of HELN cells with the plasmid pSG5-human ERbeta-puromycin.

Interest / Relevance: These cells enable to measure the hER beta estrogenic activity (full and partial agonism, antagonism) of pharmaceuticals (breast cancer, menopause treatment), environmental compounds (alkylphenols, bisphenol A, phthalates or pesticides, cosmetics).
These cells enable to measure the hER beta estrogenic activity of environmental (water, sediments), human (blood, urine adipose tissue) or food (water, vegetables, meat) samples.
